The SSI Open Water Instructor (OWI) program is designed for Divemasters and dive professionals who are ready to take the next step and become certified scuba instructors. This comprehensive training program prepares you to teach, inspire, and guide future generations of divers while building a rewarding career in the diving industry.

Throughout the course, you will develop the knowledge, teaching techniques, and practical skills required to conduct SSI training programs safely and effectively. You will learn how to present academic sessions, teach confined water skills, conduct open water training dives, evaluate student performance, and adapt your teaching style to meet the needs of different students.

The Instructor Training Course places a strong emphasis on professionalism, leadership, risk management, diver safety, and effective communication. You will gain hands-on teaching experience and learn how to create enjoyable, educational, and confidence-building experiences for your students.

Working closely with experienced Instructor Trainers, you will receive guidance and feedback throughout the program, helping you develop the confidence and competence needed to become a successful SSI Instructor. Upon successful completion of the course and Instructor Evaluation, you will earn your SSI Open Water Instructor certification.

As an SSI Open Water Instructor, you will be qualified to teach and certify new divers, continue their education through specialty programs, and work within SSI's global network of dive centers and resorts. Whether you dream of teaching in tropical destinations, working aboard liveaboards, or building a long-term career in the diving industry, becoming an SSI Instructor opens the door to exciting opportunities around the world.
